Bhushan meets Hazare over Jan Lokpal Bill

New Delhi, Dec 3 (IANS): Former AAP leader Prashant Bhushan on Thursday met social activist Anna Hazare to complain against what he said were shortcomings in the Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill.

The meeting took place at Hazare's residence at Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra, Bhushan tweeted.

Hazare and Bhushan along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were part of the India Against Corruption forum in 2011 seeking an effective Jan Lokpal to counter corruption.

"Met Anna: He says 2015 Lokpal bill has many defects. Needs to be identical to (the) 2014 bill. Ask AK (Arvind Kejriwal) to bring that. Will agitate if centre obstructs," Bhushan tweeted.

Aam Aadmi Party leaders Sanjay Singh and Kumar Vishwas had met Hazare earlier, and claimed that he supported the proposed legislation tabled by the Delhi government in the assembly.

Hazare has suggested changes in the selection panel and in the removal process, which the Delhi government is likely to incorporate.

Kejriwal on Tuesday thanked Hazare for supporting the Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill, saying he would surely implement the changes proposed by the social activist.
