Visibly upset Modi leaves Lok Sabha amid uproar

New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS): A visibly upset Prime Minister Narendra Modi left the Lok Sabha on Wednesday as opposition members created a din demanding the sacking of minister V.K. Singh.

After some 40 minutes of uproar, during which Speaker Sumitra Mahajan's repeated requests to the protesting MPs to calm down fell on deaf ears, Modi left the house.

The opposition MPs said they wanted Minister of State for External Affairs V.K. Singh out of the government for making "derogatory comments" against Dalits.

The trouble began soon after the house met for question hour as opposition members assembled near the speaker's chair shouting slogans against the minister.

"V.K. Singh should resign!" they shouted. Mahajan tried to pacify them on one hand and asked the rest of the house to continue with parliamentary business.

Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptullah looked on from the front rows of the treasury benches.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu also tried to pacify the agitated members, saying the minister had already clarified the issue and there was no point stretching it further.

As the question hour got over amid the din, the speaker again requested the opposition to let the house function but the protesting MPs instead walked out.

Mr Modi should learn tolerance and patience from Dr Manmohan Singh who never left the house even under worst provocation and humiliation meted out to him and the House by the then BJP opposition. Amen.

PM Modi had a great dream to turaround India from policy paralysis to a high growth economy at faster pace but in a democartic setup decision making only after evaluating pros and cons of the particular course of action after a thorough debate in Lokasabha and Rajyasabha. Unfortunately the present Govt is victim of their own medicine. During UPA II policy paralysis happened due to the inability of decision making and by the blockade created by BJP in Parliament. So in my point view the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was very clean man and capable leader who believed in his rather than rhetoric, of course he was constrained by political compulsions and lack of finances for the massive welfare scheme of Congress party. Therefore the macro economic problems of the country cannot be solved by one leader it can happen only when people work for the country wit utmost dedication

Let our national level leaders in both houses of Parliament (those belonging to the ruling dispensation, as well as opposition party members) undergo a change in their approach.

They have to realise that they are national representatives of our great, vibrant, multi-religious, multi-lingual, multi-cultural country, India.

Parliament, as well as Constitution of India are sacred, and have to be respected. Their behaviour as representatives of our great country has to be dignified, exemplary, non-controversial and solely with the intention of upholding the integrity and dignity of India in mind.

Anything less than this is not in order and not acceptable to the majority of India's 1.3 billion people.

Ultimately, the poor people of this country will suffer. The MPs are wasting the tax payer's hard earned money and NO WORK, NO PAY rule should be made applicable immediately to them. I do not see any hopes for PM Modi in next General Election. He seems to be the PM of BJP & RSS. He doesn't seems to the Prime Minister of our Nation. His damn care attitude towards opposition Parties, Burning issues of Price rise, communal issues, cast issues etc, etc. He thinks there is nothing more than protecting, all sadhus, sants and tainted cabinet members. say for example, sushma swaraj, intolerance cabinet ministers etc etc. He is busy in roaming all over the world. I think while he was CM of Guj. hardly he went out of India due his godra issues.
I hope he comes to his senses soon. He belongs to India not to show of around the world.

He walked out of his marriage and spoilt Jashodaben's entire life. He had in many occasions walked out of meetings, when they do not go according to his way. Now instead of staying and facing the events like an able leader, he walked away. It does not bode well for a PM.

Agenda is clear , not to let Modi to continue his development projects and take India to a higher position in his leadership. Congress can not digest this. May be President to interfere and take a strict action against these jokers who think Parliament sessions a joke and create scene over there. OF course Modi will get upset, because he values each and every minute of his time. He is not a dumb PM who just act upon some instruction from the high command, if no commands sit silent. He is from the system where PM commands the system. So, obvious response. May be President to interfere here.

Since he took control, he has simply ignored many national issues, tightlipped without addressing many serious issues.
While addressing certain issues, he was very vague in specifically hitting the target.

He was under some blind notion that the electorate won't pay any attention but learned the hard lesson. The BJP ministry is now shaken very seriously, and some of the BJP politicians will be jumping out of the ship to survive.
