Udupi, Aug 18: A sand sculpture of the beautiful Sun Temple of Konark, carved by the Karavali Sand Heart team at the Malpe beach was the centre of attraction for all the people who visited the Malpe beach here, on Wednesday August 15.

The team, which made the sculpture comprised of Srinath Manipal, Ravi Hirebettu, Venky Palimar, Purandar Malpe and Manjunath Katapady. The team began their work of sand sculpture at 5.30 pm which went on till noon.

Explaining the reason behind undertaking the sand sculpture, said the team wanted to provide tourists and people visiting the beach with something different to see on the 60th Independence Day. “Besides, the Sun Temple is such a beautiful structure. One is awestruck by its grandeur. I want people to know about its beauty and glory,” he said.
