Shatrughan Sinha Disapproves of Aamir's Intolerance Remarks

Patna, Nov 26 (PTI): Amid the controversy over Bollywood star Aamir Khan's remarks, actor-politician and BJP lawmaker Shatrughan Sinha today said he disapproved of India "being labelled intolerant" by him and others and asserted that the country was inherently peace loving.

"Am fond of Aamir Khan & family. But wholeheartedly disapprove of the idea of India being labelled intolerant by him and others too," Mr Sinha said on twitter.

"PK, where Hindu Gods&Goddess were made fun of in no uncertain terms would not have seen such success if India was intolerant," he said in an another tweet.

"Our vast motherland is inherently & essentially peace loving and respectful of every caste, creed, religion and celebrates communal harmony," said Mr Sinha who has been outspoken in his criticism of party leadership.

Mr Sinha's comments have come amid raging protest over Aamir Khan's remarks on intolerance.

Mr Khan's remarks expressing his "alarm and despondency" over the rise in recent incidents of intolerance hotly debated, he had again yesterday asserted that he stood by his comments and made it clear that neither he nor his wife Kiran Rao had any intention of leaving the country.
