Mangalore, Aug 16: A patriotic songs competition for school children within the town of municipal unit was held by Catholic Sabha unit at St Mary’s College Auditorium here recently.

 Fr Antony Lobo, parish priest presided over the function. Congratulating the competitors he said that such competitions will not only bring out the singing talents in them but also will instill in them the spirit of patriotism.

The judge invitee Ganesh Gangolly read out the letters of good wishes.

Namitha Pais, was the first one to sing the patriotic song thereby motivating the other competitors to participate in the competition. Bazil D’Souza, president of parish council, Diana Almeida, the secretary, Sony D’Costa, president of Kundapur deanery Catholic Sabha were present on the occasion.       

Pascal D’Souza, vice- president of the Catholic council of Kundapur Unit welcomed the audience. Juliet Pais, secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Sylvia Rodrigues compered the function. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the end.
