One should not have any problem for SEZ provided it do not acquire the agriculture land and harm the enviornment. SEZ may give jobs, money & comforts to some but agriculture is giving us food to all. If there is no agriculture produce then what food we can buy with money, as we all know we cannot eat money. Therefore, let our priority will be agriculture first.

I truly support Mr.A.G Pai taking away 500 acres of land or space from the earth wont do any harm to it.But as i seem to hear people can live with only AIR TO BREATHE.BUT NO FOOD TO EAT.People of Mangalore desperately need any other job source from the present supply.

The thing to be looked at is that MSEZ comes into existence with no harm or harm as little as possible. That has to be stressed to but not the removal of the whole project.People must think about how to make the project successful with no harm to the environment.Opposing the project at this point of time is not at all acceptable.

The quote " ignorance is bliss" equally applies to the supporters of the Special Exploitation Zone cum Special Evasion Zones. Mr. Pai's ignorance is that he is not aware of the disaster already caused by various big ticket projects that have affected the nature and the resultant loss to the enviornment.

He may also be ignorant that the whole westcoast and enviornmentally fragile, seismically potential for earthquakes and that the livelihood of lakhs will be affected to feed a few thousands. Of course industrialists who care less for the enviornment because the potential of earning bucks by way of tax exemptions and also potential in real estate business and the various freebies which an honest tax payer would not get , will naturally support this.

Nevertheless all this is not going to reduce the havoc the industries are going to play on the livelihood of the common man. In this regard we should say Hats off to the people of Nandigram - they showed higher level of awareness than many of our "educated" friends.

Dear Mr Pai, Economic benefits may be many .We better live on a environmentally clean earth ..Pointing fingers on Mr Bush..or on Mr XYZ will not help solve critical Issues like global warming. Global Warming is a global phenomenon were each and every person living on this planet will be affected.

When it comes to growth in India ..People fear rampant corruption, lack of effective procedures & processes ..benefits never reaching the needy..appointing individuals based on caste, creed, religion etc. Mr Pai Has to come out clear on what are the possible environmental hazards caused by the proposed MSEZ and what are the counter measures being taken.
