Nine killed in road accidents in Andhra, Telangana


Hyderabad, Nov 20 (IANS): Nine people were killed in four different road accidents in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Friday, police said.

Five people lost their lives in a collision between a bus and a car in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh early in the morning.

The accident occurred near Mettakuravapalli when the car in which the five were travelling was hit by a bus belonging to the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corp (APSRTC).

The dead include three women and a four-year-old girl. The car was crushed in the collision.

In another accident in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, two people were killed and five injured when a car in which they were travelling overturned. The accident took place near Talluru.

In Telangana's Nalgonda district, one person died and another was critically injured when a car overturned.

In another accident in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, one person was killed and two people were injured when a truck hit an auto-rickshaw.
