Mangalore, Aug 14: The 60th year of Independence of Independence Day will be celebrated at Town Hall here on August 15 at 3.30 pm. The programme is organized by the district administration, public instruction department, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and Kannada and culture department.
The programme will begin with a police band. The students of the Canara School in Urva and Nalanda School will perform variety of cultural programmes. S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat will preside over.
The Independence Day message will be delivered by B M Idinabba former chairman of Kannada Development Authority (KDA). Well-known Yakshagana artiste K Bojaraya will also be felicitated.
