Mangalore, Aug 14: Governor T N Chaturvedi will felicitate twenty expert swimmers from the district, at a function which will be held at the Raj Bhavan in Bangalore on Wednesday, August 15. The said recognition is for their courage in saving people from drowning in the sea at Panambur and Ullal.
Those to be felicitated are Pramod Putran, Rajesh Bangera, Vikram Mendon, Jeevan Sadhiq, Hasan, Zakhir Hussain, Yashwanth P Amin, Rajesh Putra, Harish Kanchan, Yashpal Kanchan, Varun Salyan, Shankar Bangera, Vikram Putran, Sharath Karkera, Rajesh and Althaf.
Some of the above had also carried out rescue operations when the DenDen ship sank off the coast of Tannirbavi.
