Udupi, Aug 13: The employees of Nagarjuna power project have allegedly assaulted a local at Bellibettu under the jurisdiction of Yllur village here on Sunday August 11. A case has been filed in Padubidri police station in this regard.

The Nagarjuna employees assaulted Damodar who questioned them over illegally fencing private land of Damodar Devadiga and Vaman of Bellibettu, stated a complaint. This illegal fencing was brought to the notice of Nandikoor Jana Jagruthi Samithi members, by Damodar. The Nagarjuna employees seem to have attacked Damodar when he was arriving to the spot along with MP Manorama Madhwaraj and other activists of Vedike, to view the illegal fencing.

The accused has been identified as Amruth Mukka, Hitesh Chitrapu and Tejpal Mulky. Damodar has been admitted in a hospital.
