Pappu Yadav regrets going against Lalu-Nitish

Patna, Nov 13 (IANS): Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) chief Pappu Yadav on Friday said he regretted contesting against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Lalu Prasad in the Bihar assembly elections.

A mellowed Pappu Yadav also told the media that he wished to apologize for the undignified language he used against the two leaders and also against Lalu Prasad's two sons.

"It was a big mistake on my part to go against Nitish and Lalu," Pappu Yadav tweeted.

An expelled RJD MP, Pappu Yadav floated the JAP and contested the assembly polls in alliance with the Samajwadi Party of Mulayam Singh Yadav and other smaller parties.

His candidates lost their security deposit in over 100 constituencies.

Pappu Yadav said it was wrong on his part to have said that he would quit active politics if Lalu Prasad's sons win the elections.

"I am sorry for (making) such a statement."

Pappu Yadav admitted that the social support base of both Lalu Pradad and Nitish Kumar, whose Grand Alliance trounced the BJP, was "strong and intact".
