Udupi, Aug 12: Shri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Puttige Math, while speaking at the pre-Paryaya consultation meeting at Puttige Math, here on Friday, August 12, assured that steps would be taken to beautify Udupi during his Paryaya tenure.
Swamiji’s tenure of Paryaya will be starting from January 18, 2008 and under this scheme, “Sundara Udupi, Krishnana Udupi” he proposed to beautify Udupi.
The Swamiji also stated that fine arts would be given more prominence during his Paryaya in 2008. He urged the devotees to give full co-operation for his Paryaya.” He exhorted the devotees saying, “This is not my Paryaya, but the Paryaya of the devotees.”
Also present on the occasion was MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, who said that all the Ashta Maths should be united in their endeavour to propagate devotion. All efforts would be made to get the maximum facilities from the government for the Paryaya festival, Bhat added.
Syndicate Bank's former chairman K K Pai was chosen president of the reception committee and wrier A L Alva was chosen working president.
Shri Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swamiji of Kaniyur Math and Shri Raghumanya Tirtha Swamiji of Bheemanakatte Math were present on the occasion.
