Udupi, Aug 12: Mumbai Express Autorickshaw Rally – 07, a 13-day adventurous expedition from Chennai to Mumbai via Goa reached Udupi here during last week.
A total of 75 participants all from eight foreign countries took part in the rally. They had left Chennai on August 5.
It is also learnt that one of the American participants who owns an Chetak auto rickshaw, as part of the programme will raise funds in the US, visit some schools here, enquiry about their needs and as per their requirements supply them with computers, furniture etc. One of the other team has plans to donate to a Mangalore school, the source added..
Moreover CEAT which is the main sponsor of the rally is aiming to promote road safety and adventure tourism, stated sources.
