Mangalore, Aug 11: The 'Apna Desh’ workshop, organized by the department of rural development nodal agency ‘Apna Desh Association’ and Jana Shikshana Trust,  was inaugurated at  Prajna Counselling Centre here, on Friday August 10.

Inaugurating the workshop KPTCL managing director Bharat Lal Meena said that general public must come forward voluntarily and protect culture and values which are deep-rooted and hidden in the rural areas.

He exhorted people in general by stating that society should not wait for any sort of help from the government officers to bring about the changes in the rural areas.

‘Apna Desh Association’ is a non-governmental association; he informed, adding that that all the members of the association should be aware of its aim and work for its success.

Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao and zilla panchayat CEO A M Kunjappa and others were present.
