Udupi, Aug 10: State youth Congress secretary and youth entrepreneur Preetham Hegde (30) passed away after brief illness on Friday August 10 morning.
Preetham was the son of HMT bus owner Jayachandra Hegde, the native of Athrady, near Hiriyadka. He was running a China Light Restaurant in Manipal. Preetham was suffering from malaria since one week and was admitted to KMC Hospital in Manipal when his physical condition worsened. However, he breathed his last around 11 am on Friday after failing to respond to the medication.
He was appointed as secretary of state youth Congress just a month ago. Besides he was serving as vice-president of Udupi district youth Congress. He was a bachelor and is survived by his parents, elder brother and a sister.
