Mangalore, Aug 10: Heavy rains are slashing across the district coupled with high velocity winds intermittently though no major eventualities are being reported.  

There is likelihood of heavy rains slashing across coastal Karnataka including DK, Udupi, Uttar Kannada, in the next 48 hours.  Met department has warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea besides advising the district administration to be prepared for any eventualities.

Rainfall:

Udupi: The district has received an average rainfall of 53.86mm from Wednesday August 8 to Thursday August 9. While Udupi received 35.8mm of rain, Kundapur received 52mm and Karkala received 72.8 mm.

Mangalore: Mangalore taluk has received 22.8mm rain, Bantwal 44.6 mm, Puttur 49.2 mm Sullia 61.3mm Beltangady 66.2 mm Uppinangady 64.2 mm and Bajpe Airport area received 38.7mm rain till Thursday August 9 morning.
