Beltangady, Aug 10: A twelve-year-old girl who was playing on a swing fell off it and died at Bangerakatte near Parenki here on Thursday August 9.
Sushma (12), daughter of Ramesh Acharya of Salmara-Bangerakatte died after falling from the swing. She was the class VI student of Machina Higher Primary School. Ramesh Acharya is paralyzed and is bed-ridden.
Sushma was playing on the swing after coming from the school. However, the swing broke and she fell down and sustained serious injuries. Though she was taken to the hospital immediately, she succumbed to injuries half the way.
MLA Prabhakar Bangera, TP member Tulsi Harabe, GP president Sanjeev Shetty Mogerodi visited the house and condoled the family.
