Puttur, Aug 10: Electronics items in more than 200 houses were damaged owing to high voltage of electricity in areas like Tappalikottige, Barike and Neerakatte in Bajattur village near Uppinangady here on Thursday August 9 morning.

The incident occurred at about 8.30 am and the people got scared after the incident. Owing to high voltage television sets, fridges, fans, electronic pumps etc were either gutted or damaged partially.

A certain Rama Naika was injured owing to electric shock. At the same time, a certain Usman's roof was gutted owing to the same reason. Even the water supply pumps belonging to local gram panchayat have also damaged.

MESCOM engineer Sesappa Pujari immediately rushed the spot and assured of proper investigation and compensation.
