BJP set to lose Bihar polls: AAP

Lucknow, Oct 30 (IANS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesman Sanjay Singh on Friday said that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was staring at sure shot defeat in the ongoing Bihar assembly elections.

Adding that the whole country would celebrate its defeat by bursting crackers, Singh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of forcing the nation into the fire of communalism.

Addressing reporters in the state capital after reviewing the party's expansion in Uttar Pradesh, Singh said that reports coming from Bihar were clearly suggesting that the BJP is not going to form the government there.

"Sensing that the party is losing Bihar, BJP president Amit Shah is making wild statements and trying to divide the remaining phases of polling on communal lines," Singh further said.

He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to fulfil the aspirations of the people who had voted for him.

"The country had not voted for Modi so that they eat pulses at Rs.250 a kg," he said while also slamming the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) government in the state.

Singh also denied that the AAP will not contest the 2017 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, as claimed by senior UP minister Azam Khan.

"This is a frivolous claim. We will fight with all our might the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls in 2017. The people of the state are looking towards AAP with hope and as an alternative to other parties," he added.
