BSF marks golden jubilee with exhibition, cultural show

New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS): A three-day exhibition 'Ek Swaranim Anubhav' was inaugurated here on Friday to celebrate the golden jubilee year of the Border Security Force (BSF).

Inaugurating the exhibition at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, union Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary lauded the role of the BSF in guarding the country's borders.

During the inaugural ceremony, Chaudhary also released a short film on the organisation.

A photo exhibition and a free medical check-up and awareness camp are the other major events of the celebrations.

The minister appreciated the display of BSF weapons and artillery.

Several splendid colourful cultural programmes showcasing the cultural diversity of India have also been planned. The force has also displayed exquisite and handpicked items from all over the country, a statement said.

In a spirit of bonhomie, Border Guard Bangladesh is also participating in the exhibition for the second time with stalls put up by Simanto Paribar Kallyan Samiti (SHIPKS).
