Mangalore, Aug 7:
  A special drive to bring various establishments under the purview of Employees Provident Fund Act, Karnataka has been launched, stated K. Kumarappan, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner - II (Compliance), Mangalore Region Enforcement Officers of Employees’ Provident

In all cases wherein the establishments employ 20 or more persons, the EPF (Employees Provident Fund) Act applies. The said special drive is aimed at employers who have till date not come forward to cover their units under the EPF Act even after the number of their employees had reached 20.

The release exhorts and advises Managements of the units to cooperate with the enforcement officers during the drive and produce records on demand, failing which they would be liable for action, added the release.
