Mangalore, Aug 6: Friendship day was celebrated under the leadership of Youth Welfare committee at St Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia on Sunday August 5.

Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, the parish priest of the church inaugurated the day by tyeing a friendship band to a youth. Later all the youth tied the friendship bands to whom they are meeting for the first time.

Patrick D’Souza, convener of the committee welcomed the youth. Norbert Misquith was the resource person for the programme. He conducted several group activities. Arun Raj Rodrigues, vice-president of parish pastoral council gave a call to the youth to make use of these programmes to develop their leadership qualities.

Flavia Sequeira, secretary of PPC, Fr Maxim Rosario, Raymond D’Cunha, Louis Pinto and other leaders were present on the occasion. The day ended with musical programme and dance.
