Mangalore, Aug 6: Akashvani will broadcast two special Yakshagana ‘Talamaddale’ programmes, ‘Kranti Kahale’ and ‘Swatantraya Samra’ based on scripts written by Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli and songs by Dinakar S Pachhnady, in order to memorialize the 150th year of the first war of Indian Independence (1857).
These programmes will be broadcast on Wednesday, August 8 and August 15 at 9.30 pm.
Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, convener of Karnataka Yaksha Bharati has done the direction for the ‘Talamaddale’ plays. The main focus of the play is on the different phases of freedom movement, and life stories of freedom fighters, all those who fought for India’s freedom, informed a press note.
