Kundapur, Aug 3: Situation turned violent when a section of the traditional boat fishermen opposed the other group for fishing using mechanized boats at Madi near Gangolli light house, on Thursday August 2.

The Maravante-Uppunda ferry boat fishermen ventured into sea, with the out-board engines fitted to their boats on Thursday Augus 2.  However, the Gangolli ferry boat fishermen opposed them for using out-board engines.  It led to clash between some of the fishermen. A big crowd was also gathered at the spot. Hence, tension prevailed for some time.

Kundapur tahshildar Arun Prabha and circle inspector Valentine D’Souza rushed to the spot and solved their issue amicably. Moreover, it was decided not to use the out-board engines for ferry boats until August 10.
