Kundapur, Aug 3: A long stretch of NH 17 from Herikudru Bridge up to the border village Tekkate of Udupi taluk has been interspersed with potholes, frequently posing problems to the vehicular traffic especially during rains.
As the Dali Bridge near Kollur near here, the link between Shimoga and Udupi is under construction the normal traffic along this link road is at stand still almost everyday.
Besides, the heavy vehicular traffic in the Shiradi Ghat has been prohibited. As a result the trucks carrying manganese ore ply through Shimoga – Bangalore – Hosangady –Kundapur – Udupi route which too is another reason for the present state of road, said reports.
