Doctors, staff do garba in ICU

Ahmedabad, Oct 21 (DHNS): At a time when Gujarat is soaked in Navratri fever, medicos and staff of a public hospital here took their revelry a bit too far when they performed garba inside the intensive care unit (ICU).

More shocking was that the staff at Sola Civil Hospital, located on the posh S G Highway, erupted into an impromptu dance soon after state Health and Finance Minister Nitin Patel left after inaugurating a new dialysis centre on Monday afternoon.

The incident came to light on Tuesday after a video clip of the hospital staff performing garba accompanied by loud music went viral on social media and was shown on local television channels. The video showed young doctors, many in white coats, nurses and ward boys dancing as they went about taking “rounds” of the ICU with their footwear on, even as patients and their kin watched speechlessly.

The hospital management, however, seemed unaware of the celebration. Medical superintendent H K Bhavsar said no one had taken permission to perform garba inside the ICU, which is generally out of bounds, even for patients’ relatives.

He ordered the hospital staff to stop their festivities and served notices to 40 employees seeking an explanation.

Are they being paid to dance?. Let alone dancing in the ICU they shouldn't be dancing at all in the hospital. They can do it in the canteen or recreation room with permission. These are educated goons that's all I can say.

Dear friend, Maneka Gandhi's department " Women and Child welfare ministry had a budget cutting of $ 1.6 billion (50% cutting by the very compassionate and poor Arun Jaitley (worth over Rs. 150 crores) then 20% cutting at the Healthcare budget for 2016.

The BJP Government, do they care for the sick and poor people of India????????????????????????

Taking off the protean rich low priced beef from the dinner plates of the millions, was it helping the hungry people?

The pulse price is skyrocketing, how the poor and ordinary people can have enough food to satisfy the hunger? If this Government is not out at the earliest, the lamenting aftermath upon the nation would be far severe in the days ahead.

Jossey, old man you look like a frustrated soul. Your coments are always abusing with words like Feku beef and Gujarath model and all issues related to the present govt. If doctors danced in Gujarat how it is related to Union Minister or PM. Our Karnataka is witnessing murders rape everyde. When the dead person in a comunal related issue is Hindu then you have every reason to deflect the issue giving some silly comment. So when you accuse others of being fundamentalists just see your behaviour, attitude and your reaction to issues and people.

If you really have humanity and concern towards others then be balanced in your views and comments. Or else in what way you are different from those you are accusing every single day.

Do you think while inugrate ICU they keep dead body there????

Mr. C D Souza, Kuloor, Union Minister inagrate the ICU, hence they are blaming him. But in report it is clear that Garba held after he left the place.

And your comments will not effect him as he became psycho about Mr. Modi Govt.

He is more concerned about Gujarat than Udupi.

Only a feku minister will approve this nonsense inside an ICU, morgue etc.

The healing miracle report after the "garba dancing" must be submitted to the British and American Journal of Medicine so that, like the 'yoga' revolution propagated by Mr. Modi, the ICU-CCU dancing miracle can be introduced around the world.
