Vascular Laboratory Inaugurated

Mangalore, Jul 31: A vascular laboratory was inaugurated at the Father Muller Medical College here on Saturday July 28.

The project was sanctioned by Board of Research in nuclear sciences, Baba Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, to study the vascular disorders in veins and arteries using non invasive method.

The laboratory was inaugurated by Prof M N Madhyastha, advisor of research and development, FMMC. Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMCI blessed the instruments and facilities and conducted the prayer. Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator of the medical College, Fr William Menezes, administrator of the hospital, Dr B Sanjeev Rai, dean of FMMC and other heads of the departments were present on the occasion.

Awareness Camp for Women held at Mullarkadu

Mangalore, Jul 31: An awareness camp for women was held by Father Muller Medical College in association with Mangala Women's Association (mahila mandala) Mullarkadu at Mullarkadu Community Health Center, here recently.

Inaugurating the camp, Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator of Father Muller Medical College said that women should be independent in all fields.


The rural women were informed about the child fostering, food habits, preparing baby food and exercises at the awareness camp.

Dr Prasanna and Dr Narasimha helped were the resource persons for the camp in which 72 women took part and availed benefits. Mohini, compeered the programme and Prema Shetty proposed vote of thanks. 


MBBS Course for Academic Year to Begin on Aug 1

Mangalore, Jul 31:  The formal inauguration of MBBS course for the academic year 2007-2008 will take place in the conference hall of the college premises at 3 pm in the evening on Wednesday August 1.

Prof K M Kaveriappa, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University will inaugurate the course.


Breast Feeding Week from Aug 3

Mangalore, Jul 31: The world breast feeding week, a week-long programme, will be organized by Father Muller Medical College in the academy hall of the college here from Friday August 3.

The inauguration of the programme will be at 10 am on Friday morning. Dr Rajesh, district RCH will inaugurate the week-long programme.
