Mangalore, Jul 29: Dr Ambedkar Prathishthana (foundation) has put forth a set of fresh demands here on Saturday, July 28.

 

The following are the important demands, among others, by Foundation state president Shivappa Rankeda Guttu at a press meet as follows:

1. The persons who attacked TV9 reporter and went on a ramage should be banished from the state immediately.

2. A special recruitment drive for SC and ST should be started immediately to fill up the backlog of vacancies, otherwise the government should call for fresh elections.

3. All loans taken from the SC and ST Board should be waived, and the recommendation of the fifth pay commission should be extended to the municipal and city corporation employees, as in the case of state government.
 
4. The foundation condemned the arrest of the agitators, and also demanded that the government should provide free medical facilities, education to the family members of the employees, and financially assist the employees to have their own houses.
 
5. The foundation also condemned the statement of Rajya Sabha member Janardhan Poojari who protested the imposition of ban on manufacture and sale of arrack in the state, and in this regard urged the state government to order for a complete ban on manufacture and sale of arrack.
 
6. Ten-acre land should be granted to every soldier who laid down his life in service and suitable employment should be provided to retired armed forces personnel.

7. The jobs of temporary or contract workers working in the Indian postal department should be regularized.
 
8. The government should seriously think in terms of including the life-story of Dr BR Ambedkar in all the three languages in schools from class 1 to class 10.
