Udupi, Jul 27: The Sri Krishna Temple here was witness to the auspicious “Tapta Mudra Dharana” ritual which was held on Thursday July 26.

The figures of “shanka” and “charka” were stamped on the forehead, cheat and arms of the devotees by Sri Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji of Paryaya Sri Krishnapur Math.

There was a long queue of devotees who waited for their turn to participate in the ritual in front of the temple. In case of women, the seals were stamped only on their arms. 

Junior Swamiji of Sri Sode Vadiraja Math and Sri Vishwavalabha Tirtha Swamiji were also present on the occasion at the temple.

A “Tapta Mudra Dharana” programme was also held at the Sri Shiroor Math, where Lakshmivara Tirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Math embossed the figures on the devotees. The said programme is held on the “Prathama Ekadashi” or “Sayani Ekadashi.”
