Washington, Jul 27:
Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan apparently thinks that there will be no actor to match his superstar status in the Indian film industry after him.

Khan, dubbed 'the King of Bollywood,' recently said that he is the last "superstar" of Bollywood.

Khan insisted that the superstar breed was increasingly being wiped out because of the recent changes in the entertainment industry.

"The entertainment industry is changing rapidly, with the growth of satellite channels and multiplexes," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

"Soon there will not be any superstars. I would like to believe that I am the last superstar of India," he added.

Again he proved that a little learning is a dangerous thing.he is the best mimic in the indian film industry.  He should do art films. I wonder what would happen if there were no KARAN JOHARs.  I feel sorry for SRK.

Come on Sharukh! if you would have said that you are the superstar of this decade I would have agreed for some extent, but last superstar for India how come, don't you forsee your son will be the next superstar.

There are lots and lots talented actors in Indian cinema. Don't brag yourself, superstar is nothing, Rajesh Khanna was a superstar but now he is nowhere, actor should live in the hearts of people that is the quality of a real actor.

Hey Tushar Kapoor also thinks that he is the last super star! Ha Ha. India is a democratic country and you are free to express yourself.

Most of his recent films have bombed and he was lucky to get some good stories to his kitty when he started which made his movies hit. SRK as superstar NOWAY. He never was and never will be one. IF he thinks so, he is living in a fools paradise. Amithab, Rajesh Khanna, Dilip Kumar and down south Rajani, Dr. Rajkumar, Chiranjeevi are the real superstars

By claiming himself to be a superstar, Shahrukh Khan has shown that he is a braggart. It is for the people to say that he is a great actor and not for him to proclaim to be one. How fastidious this bloke sounds? For me the only Indian actor who is really the King of Hindi cinema is Dilip Kumar. There was great class and grace in his acting. He is India’s Clark Gable, who acted as Rhet Butler in the greatest epic made by Hollywood, “Gone with the wind.” The audience can call any actor to be good, if his acting talents are phenomenal to get an entry into foreign film festivals.

How many films of Amitabh Bachchan or Shahrukh Khan have been exhibited in such film festivals? Most Indian films deemed to be super heroes or megastars are just the idols for masses and their films are not relished by discerning cinema viewers.

SRK of course is a FANTASTIC Actor no doubt! Though Amitabh is considered to be the Bollywood Superstar but he has A TOUCH ME NOT ATTITUDE unlike SRK who is very down to earth and a layman can relate to him and he proved this on KBC.

SRK is proud and boasts of his stature but I feel he deserves that since he has risen as KING OF BOLLYWOOD thru his hard work and on his own merit, without a GODFATHER or family to back him in Bollywood.

SRK's statement just shows how immature he is. SRK is living in fools paradise. for me real superstars are Big B and Rajni. they try to live modestly (though of compulsion amar singh has messed up Big B). may god bless SRK with some good sense!

I totally agree with SRK as he says "I would like to believe that I am the last superstar of India"...(please understand what he is saying first and then give some stupid comments on him) as he is truly an entertainer in his own right...we cannot compare one stars ability with the other as each one are unique and he is definitely a crowd puller.

Shah Rukh is so pomous and self-proclaimed, full of himself (sick). He is always overacting & jumping around. He cannot compare himself to AB. Moreover I would not even call him good looking.

It's insane to proclaim yourself a superstar of Bollywood. For me, Rajnikant is the king of Indian cinema.

Real Indian superstar is Mr.Amitabh Bachhan. I realy don't think Shah Rukh can meet 10% of Amitabh qualities of super starness.

SRK is a big foolish, just a self proclaimed ‘King’Joker of Bollywood. Except just Dilwale… (DDLJ) and Kuch (KKHH) he never gave any blockbusters. Is there any ? There are only two greatest super stars in Bollywood, Rajesh Khanna and the Big ‘B’. Both are these the real superstars and gave countless super hits, i.e. Aanand, Abhiman, Baghban, Don, Kaante,Namak Halal, Dewar, Janzeer, Sholay, Sil Sila, Lawaris, Kabhi Kabhi, Trishul, Kala Patthar, Hum, Bunty Aur Bubly, Sarkaar, Black,  etc………………………………

Remember the audience and they have put you in this position. Be glad and do not proclaim you are the king of Bollywood. There are many kings better than you. Learn to be simple and humble like the true king RAJNIKANT. He is unarguably the KING of cinema. It is crazy and bizarre to call yourself the king. Thre are many other khans ex.Aamir/salman and our old king BIG B HIMSELF.

At this point of time he is number one, I will not say he is wrong until we get another superstar to replace him, as for now he is number 1

There is reason to believe what SRK says. I am not a great fan of SRK but believe that he is a superstar primarily because of his abilities to rise above other stars such as Salman, Amir & others. SRK also gives reason why there may not be superstars anymore. This is because the entertainment industry is increasingly saturated and therefore the future crop may find it extremely difficult to become cult figures.

When the King of Bollywood talks everyone listens. Not for nothing has Shah Rukh Khan stood his ground against the likes of other top stars including the ageless Amitabh Bachhan. King Khan has shown admirable flair and flexibility in all his roles apart from putting his heart and sole while performing. Despite a bad back, Shah Rukh continued his acting career without unduly disturbing the film makers.

Without any doubt, today, he commands a top position in Bollywood. Although he exhibits his penchant for prominence agressively sometimes, Shah Rukh with his dimple styled smile has captured the hearts of most heroines in India. He may not possess the outgoing and open hearted generosity of Salman Khan. Nevertheless, Shah Rukh has carved his own niche in his own popular manner that clearly marks him as the Don of Indian cinema.

I am shocked and amazed with Shahrukh Khan's pompousness and self importance. What does he think of himself? It sounds extremely bizarre and tasteless when he calls himself a superstar.
