Kundapur, Jul 26: One person was killed and four were injured in two separate road accidents near Byndoor and Koteshwar here on Wednesday July 25.

Suresh Bhandary (30), a resident of Basrur was killed after he fell under a speeding tanker in front of the Pattabhi Hotel here on Wednesday.  He was riding a mobike when it skidded after moving on the edge of the road.  Soon he lost control over his vehicle and fell on the road along with his daughter Savinaya (5).  But before he could recover from the fall, a tanker which was coming from behind, moved on his head.

As a result Suresh died on the spot.  His daughter Savinaya too has sustained serious injuries in the accident and is admitted to a private hospital here. 

Lorries Collide at Jaladi

In another accident at Jaladi near Hemmadi here, three persons were injured after two trucks collided with each other on Wednesday.

The injured Ravi Thalikote, Shashidhar Hubli and Suresh have been admitted to private hospital here.  The accident occurred when an ore-laden truck speeding towards Mangalore from Hospet rammed into another lorry, which was on its way to Koppala from Mangalore carrying coco,  while trying to overtake another vehicle.

As a result the ore-laden lorry rolled into a nearby field while coco from the other truck was found spread all over the road.  Since the lorry was stranded on the road for long, traffic was disrupted for a long while.  The road was cleared after the police arrived on the spot.
