Mangalore, Jul 25: Heavy rainfall is predicted by meteorological department in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada district in the next 48 hours. 

All the necessary preventive measures have been undertaken by the state government in order to avoid any unpleasant or untoward incidents. Control room will be functioning round the clock, according to a press release.

As per information given by the press release, starting from July 18 to as of date, Dakshina Kannada has received 700.8 mm rainfall. Last year, the rainfall was 1160.7 mm in the consequent period.
