Sullia, July 23: Steps have been taken to impose ban on the heavy vehicles Sullia, Kushala Nagar and Madikeri routes, said A V Basappa, executive engineer of public works department of Kodagu district, addressing media persons at Madikeri.
Since the road of Shiradi Ghat is having major damages, the route of Sullia, Madikeri and Kushala Nagar is the only alternative, and this may cause damages to the route above, he said. "Finally even this route may reach to the similar condition of Shiradi," he added.
Letter has been written to the deputy commissioner and to the chief engineer of the public works department of Mangalore to ban the trucks with heavy loads and buses from the route, he added.
