Mangalore, Jul 24: “The South Canara District Credit Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank has taken a revolutionary step by introducing Mobile Banking”, said Bank president M N Rajendra Kumar.

While addressing the press conference on Tuesday July 24, he said that the bank has 94 years of history. All the 52 branches of the bank are being computerized in the recent past. Moreover, SCDCC Bank will be the first bank to introduce ATM services in the co-operative sector. The bank has achieved another milestone by introducing mobile banking service.

None of the commercial banks have introduced this system so far. Zenith Infotech of Mumbai has provided technical support for mobile banking. Navin Rodrigues of Rodrigues Industries located in Baikampady, has designed the mobile banking vehicle, he informed.

Mobile bank will work at specific places at a specific time. It will have direct connection with all the 52 branches. Account keeping, deposits collection, cheque encashment, distribution of all kinds of loans etc, will be performed by this bank, he added.
