Mangalore, Jul 23: An 'Eicher' vehicle transporting cattle turned turtle at Bolkunje near Mulki here on Sunday July 22 morning killing two of the cattle in the vehicle.

The accident occurred around 7.30 in the morning.  The vehicle was speeding towards Bolkunje from Palimar when it skidded and turned turtle beside the road.  Since those who were in the vehicle including the driver had fled the place immediately, it is suspected that the cattle in the vehicle was transported illegally.

There were a total 14 cattle in the vehicle out of which two were killed in the accident.  Sources said that the vehicle was being used by a resident of Kanchinadka near Padubidri.  But it is also known through a finance company who provided loan to purchase the vehicle that it was owned by a resident of Udyavar near Udupi.

Mulki police have registered a case in this regard.
