Ponda, Jul 18: People of Ponda are are anguishedas the road proceeding towards Panaji from Kundaim Industrail Estate gate is in a dilapidated condition and many potholes have formed on the same, creating problems for vehicular traffic. This has happened in spite of the fact that public works department minister Sudin Dhavlikar passes by the same road.

The road is in worst condition, and it is very difficult to ply vehicles thereon. Angry commuters ask why the minister cannot see the potholes, even though he passes through the same route every day.

Before the state assembly elections,  most of the candidates assured the voters of water, light and also good roads. Also some of the MLAs at that time to lure voters had hot mixed the roads without checking the quality.

Now the same road surfaces have been washed off by the rain water. On the other hand, the elected representatives appear to have forgotten their assurances to the voters.

The annoyed citizens, therefore, have given a deadline for repairs, failing which they have threatened to take to the roads with agitation.
