Governor S C Jamir addressed the newly-elected MLAs on the first day.
The house passed condolence motions for the national leaders and notable Goans who died in the recent months.
Those remembered in the house were former prime minister Chandra Shekhar, former test cricketer of Goan origin Dileep Sardesai, Bollywood music composer of yesteryear and also a Goan, Dattaram and others.
