Mangalore, Jul 15: Thieves have stolen a huge amount of cash and gold from a house at Abbakkanagar layout near Kottara junction here on Sunday July 15 evening.

The house belongs to one Padmanabha. The owner of the house had gone out in the afternoon with his family members. Before they could return home at 9.50 am, the thieves had decamped with Rs 48 thousand in cash and 77 grams golden ornaments.

It is suspected that the theft could have taken place anytime between evening and 9 pm.

Sources said that, the thieves entered the house by breaking the front door. Urva police rushed to the spot along with sniffer dogs and finger print experts. No clues were immediately available.
