Mangalore, Jul 12: Tulu Billavas do not have Kula Math culture (bringing 24 sects across India under one parent Math) and imposing the Kula Math culture on the Tulu Billava community is against their beliefs and nativity, said K Dinesh Poojari, an office-bearer of Tulu Billavas social service organization told in the press conference here on Tuesday July 10.

If anyone has surplus money, they could utilize the amount to the good of community rather than setting up a Math like the proposed one and the Kula Math represents the Vedic culture and the Tulu Billava community does not support any favorable suggestions in setting up Kula Math, he added.

He further said that any attempt to bring Billava community together based on profession is a futile attempt and unhealthy too as the community has been depending on various professions to earn its livelihood, and no body has sought any one like Shivagiri to do charity like getting a Kula Math to them.

The press release from the organization stated that setting up a similar Math from Tulu people in the native culture would not be opposed by the organization but accepting a Swamiji who is not from the Tulu locality would ever be condemned.

The release cleared its view they need any solution that has social implications like helping poor not setting up Kula Math.  It concluded with the note that any attempt to have a Math would be protested by the organization.
