Mangalore, July 12: An indefinite protest demanding the transfer of corrupt officials was launched by the employees of Karnataka State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank here, on Monday July 9. The employees also demanded hike in salary and other benefits.

A state-wide strike was carried out according to the decision of the joint committee of the Bank Employees’ Federation in Mangalore.

Addressing media persons, bank district manager KC Sadananda said that the IAS officials should be appointed as early as possible, and that the managing director and secretary should be transferred.  Wages should be revised with arrears starting from January 1, 2002.

The 10th and 11th pay revision was not implemented yet, which was decided in the agreement made in the year 2001, between the employees and the management.

The service rules should not be amended breaching rules and those rules which are altered should be abolished. Also the harassment of employees without reason should be stopped, he added.
