Karkala, Jul 12: An old man died when a lorry hit him at Joduraste here on Wednesday July 11 morning.
The deceased person has been identified as Raju Shetty (63), resident of Kukkundur here. The incident occurred around 8 am.
While the lorry driver moved it in reverse, the driver had not spotted Raju Shetty walking behind it. Being severely hit, he was rushed to a hospital. Later on, he was taken to Mangalore to be admitted to Wenlock hospital for further attention.
But he succumbed to the injuries in the afternoon.
