Panaji, Jul 11: Save Goa Front (SGF) legislator Aleixo Reginaldo Lawrence on Wednesday July 11 filed his nomination for the post of deputy speaker in the Goa state legislative assembly.
The elections for the post of deputy speaker are scheduled on Monday July 16.
Curtorim MLA Lawrence filed his papers with the legislature secretary in presence of SGF president Churchill Alemao, UGDP legislator Atanasion alias Babush Monserratte and SGF founder president Sidhanath Buyao.
Alemao proposed his name which was seconded by Monserratte.
The SGF has decided to lobby with other legislators to get their candidate elected for the deputy speaker's post.
