All India Budokan Karate Championship (AIBKC)-2007: Organizing Committee of the proposed AIBK-2007 was inaugurated recently. This championship is being organized by the Institute of Karate and Allied Arts at the Mallya Indoor stadium in Mangalore from October 26 to October 28.
As per its press release district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty is the chairman of the committee. The other office-bearers are Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi as president, Suresh Chandra Shetty, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Raghunath Shet, A Mohiuddin as vice presidents, Praveen Kumar as executive president, Balkrishna Alva as Secretary, Anand Devadiga, Prabhakar Kunder, Suresh and Vinod Ullal as members.

BSNl staff strike on Jul 11: Executives and non-executive staff of the Unions and Associations of BSNL jointly are going today, Wednesday July 11 on a day-long strike. It’s a first time that both of these segments of BSNL covering all cadres of BSNL are unitedly staging a protest. They are upset about the indefinite delay by the BSNL management in purchasing mobile equipment. A request to consumers has been made to solicit their co-operation.
Evaluation Camp on July 13: A free evaluation and education camp for children with wheezing problem will be conducted by Dr T M A Pai hospital on July 13 from 9 am to 1 pm. Dr Parvati V Bhat Chief Admin. Medical Officer in a press release here informed that they will be performing “Nebulisation” for assessment and PEFR (Peak Expiratory Flow Rate) for all patients visiting the camp.
Office-bearers to MCICWA elected: Unanimous election of Ullas Kumar Melinamogaru as the chairman of the Mangalore Chapter of the Institute of Cost and Works Association (MCICWA) of India informed the press release from the said association. The other office bearers elected are Krishnamurthy Alevour as Vice chairman, B H Poojary as Secretary, Malavika Gulvady as Treasurer, G R Prabhu, B K Divakara and Anoop K G as managing committee members, added the press release.
