Karwar, Jul 11: The activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike have displayed their outburst of anguish against the Goa Konkani Ekikaran Manch leaders Prakash Palanakar and his wife Asha Palanakar, by pelting eggs at them on Tuesday July 10 morning.

The incident occurred near Mahasati hall at about 10.30 am. Meanwhile, Kannada Rakshana Vedike activists shouted slogans alleging that the stand of Prakash and Asha Palanakars’ was anti-Kannada. Later, the pro-Kannada activists staged protest rally under the leadership of Praveen Kumar Shetty in the main streets of Karvar.

The protesters were arrested by the police when they reached Kajubhag cross. The activists entered the van by shouting slogans that Karvar, Joida and Haliyal were the integral parts of Karnataka. The Goa Ekikaran Manch leaders could go to Goa and settle there, they said.

Tight security has been the arranged by the police to prevent any untoward incidents.
