UK, Jul 10: Anil Gonsalves from Binaga parish of Karwar diocese was ordained on July 3, 2007 by the Bishop of Aberdeen Diocese in Scotland, United Kingdom.  

Fr Anil Gonsalves was born on 27th November, 1975 to Peter and Philomena Gonsalves at Binaga Parish of Karwar Diocese.   After completing his college studies (BSc) in Karwar, he joined the Aberdeen Diocese in 2001 and studied philosophy and theology in Pontifical Scotts College in Rome.   On July 3, 2007 he was ordained in Aberdeen by the Bishop Peter Moran, the Bishop of Aberdeen.


 On July 7, 2007, he celebrated his first Konkani Mass with the members of Aberdeen Konkan Association (AKA).   After the Mass a felicitation function was held at St Mary's Cathedral hall.   Speaking on the occasion, president of association Prakash Bennis expressed joy to have a Konkan originated priest serving in Aberdeen.   Dr Maxim compered the programme and Maria Carvalo proposed the vote of thanks.   After the programme all enjoyed the family cooked dinner.
