Beltangady, Jul 10: A total of 20 persons were injured when a Maxi cab carrying marriage party collided with a Tata Indica car, at Dharmastal, on Monday, July 9.

The incident occurred near Netravati Bridge here. The marriage party was returning in the maxi cab from the temple after the wedding was solemnized. On the other hand, Indica car tried to overtake the maxi cab and crashed. This resulted in injuring 20 persons.

The injured have been identified as Manjunath (33) and Sphoorti (3) of Basavanagudi Nagar in Ranebennur, Kousalyabai (70), Susheelamma (60) and Shobha (31) of Kashinakatte in Shimoga, Mohan Rao (52) of Bhadravati, Kalpana (38) of Tarikere, G V Manjunath (39) of Mallakoppa in Shimoga, Mailaravada (72) of Nidagi, Susheelamma (52) and Praveen (23) of Byadagi, Vittal Rao (65) of Shimoga, Ramesh (50) and Ashish (16) of Davanagere, Ratnabai (54) of Shimoga, Gayatri (40) and Navin (17) of Byadagi. injured have been admitted to Benaka hospital in Ujire.
