Udupi, Jul 9: A protest against Suzlon Company was held by the public at Padubidri. They were protesting against the company for acquiring the land that belonged to the Kanchinadka higher primary school.

Suzlon Company had started the process of acquiring the land for their proposed wind energy project.

Several houses were vacated for the sake of the project. The villagers are of the opinion that the decision of the company to acquire school play ground was not correct.

Hence the villagers held a meeting under the auspices of school development committee and decided not to surrender the play ground to the Suzlon Company.

The company has currently suspended the survey work in the school playground after the protest.

    Why villagers showing their power to private company. They are poor and want to be poor. opposng any development plan will not be good for any society. Political interference is always present for such destructive activity. Once Govt. Approved why opposition by villagers. Do we have any law of governance or not.
