Mangalore, Jul 9: As expected, eversince complete ban on arrack came into effect, police and excise personnel have handful of work of keeping an eye on sale of illicit liquor. Now-a-days even the newspapers are incomplete without the coverage of arrests ans seize in connection with sale of illicit liquor.

In a yet another case, a person was arrested at Silver Gate near Kulshekhar by Kankanady police for selling arrack illegally on Saturday July 8. The arrested person has been identified as Shridhar (46), a resident of Kulshekhar. The police have also seized 205 packets of arrack and materials worth Rs 2665. Another accused Melvin is said to be absconding.

On the other hand Bantwal town police have seized 133 packets of arrack and arrested a person in Sajipamunnur. The arrested has been identified as Sankappa Poojary (53). Sources said that, he was selling arrack illegally in his house.
