Margao, July 8: At least 13 people injured and other sustained minor injuries on Sunday , when a Margao-bound Kadamba Transport Corporation bus from Panaji went off the road and rolled over.

According to sources, the driver of the bus lost control over it, as the dilapidated steering wheel assembly cracked in the middle, causing the mishap.

One of the passengers, seventy-year-old Maria Dias from Raia village, was seriously injured and admitted to Goa Medical College. She is recuperating, according to the police.

The driver and conductor Nitin Gude were also injured in the accident. Rest of the victims were rushed to nearby Hospicio Hodpital for first aid and were discharged soon.

Meanwhile, a naphtha-laden tanker GA 02 V 6834 somersaulted at Karmal Ghat, Canacona. No one was injured in this accident.
