Udupi, Jul 5: Valuables and several articles have been stolen from Sri Mahalingeshwar Temple at Manipur near Kalmanje Dendurkatte near here on Wednesday July 4 night.

The thieves have stolen a lamp stand costing Rs 30,000, besides silver dishes, 3 copper vessels, alms boxes and many other precious items used in puja.

The incidence came to light when the priest arrived at the temple for performing puja on Thursday July 5 morning.  A case has been lodged at Kaup police station. The police have started investigation by bringing the sniffer dogs and finger print experts to the spot.
